Meet the 2022 SHYC Junior Coaching & Sailing Instructor Team!

At UVM Emma spent much of her time on the lovely (and cold) waters of Lake Champlain as an active member of the UVM Sailing Team – she even competed in two ICSA Women’s National Championships with her fellow lady catamounts! In the winter you can find her either on the mountains skiing or in a thick wetsuit surfing the New England Coast. This past summer she was the captain of a 42’ catamaran for Sail Caribbean, cruising the British Virgin Islands teaching both sailing and marine science to students. Emma has been a part of Sailors for the Sea’s Skipper program, working with the organization to expand their initiatives and advocate for sailors to protect the waters they use. Currently a graduate student at the University of Rhode Island, Emma is further pursuing her academic love of the oceans as she works towards her Master of Arts in Marine Affairs. She could not be more excited for her first summer at Sachems Head Yacht Club!
